The 2nd Maryland Regiment

Assigned to the second Maryland Brigade of the main Continental army on the 22nd of May 1777. The regiment was present at both the battles of Brandywine and Germantown. The firing line pictured here is completely comprised of metal figures from the Perry brothers 28mm AWI range.

I have based this regiment’s paint scheme around a Malcolm McGregor illustration (“B”) from Uniforms of the American Revolution. Example “A” is from the Smith and Kiley’s An Illustrated Encyclopedia of uniforms of the American war of independence. The last two variations (C & D) pictured here came from images found by using uncle google. Example “C” is described as a 1777 pattern uniform while “D” is from 1781. The down loadable uniform guide on the Buccas web site also contains an image similar to example “D”
